Diary of a real DORK?

Okay seriously…Danny has been re-reading the Lord of the Rings and wanting to re-watch all the movies – now don’t get me wrong, I love these books and the films as well, BUT I was forced to wait in 2 hour line ups for the premieres of all 3 movies…then we went to see them again about 2 weeks after we had seen them for the first time. THEN Danny managed to download pirated copies while we were waiting for the DVD to come out…THEN I stupidly bought him all the extended versions…I am certain that, between reading and watching, I have spent 2 weeks of my life focused on Lord of the Rings…anyhoo, this time around is a bit easier since we are only watching them as fast as Danny can read…so basically about half a section every few days…

The only downside of the films is that they force out the inner nerd in me…is it odd that this:

Totally rocks my world

and that this:

Looks like a spanish drug lord?? (no attraction to this pic WHATSOEVER).

*Sigh* I am a geek indeed!!

So we are heading out on our road trip in a matter of minutes!! I can’t wait!! I have been looking forward to this little getaway for MONTHS now! And even better now, our couple friends are heading to the city as well! So we will shop/eat lunch with them on Wednesday…I wish I had known they were going before today…I just made New Years plans the other day and had I known they were going we could have done something to include them…oh well, at least we live near them, so we get to hang out all the time!

Anyway, I am also a bit nervous on the “job front” right now…I have a timeline in which I need to find a new job and that is closing at an alarming rate. I applied for one that I would LOVE to have and I am definitely qualified for, but I believe they are slower in their selection process…so even if I am called for an interview I might not hear from them for a while…however, I am making sure to think positive thoughts, though it might not get me the dream job, it might get me something good for the time being (at least until I finish the brokers course…if I was finished that I could try that field right away, but I still have a bit of work ahead of me on that one). I guess I will just have to keep searching and keep thinking positively!!

  • OK… I just wrote out this giant comment and then deleted it….

Basically I wanted to say have a great time in Edmonton, and that I loved Elf -Orlando in the LOTR movies, (I actually think I only saw two…not a huge fan) and then I’ve hated him in everything since….he looks like an evil magician in my opinion….

    Have fun my dear!

  • lol Yeah I think you have paid your dues on the Lord of the Rings front! Yeah Orlando is hot that’s for sure…even in the Spanish drug lord pic :-D

Have a great time on your trip Jen!

A great job will come and you will be so happy and motivated in 2009 that you’ll blow yourself away! :-)

  • Hey if you can email from your pearl than you can do blog posts from it. I’m not sure about wordpress, but I’m sure they would have a similar feature. There is a setting on blogger under “email” that you can set up an email address that will send posts to your blog and the “subject” of your email is your blog post title! I love it and now can take advantage of it! I mean they won’t be elaborate posts with pictures via BB, but still!

I got you added to my blogroll this morning – it finally worked!

  • Ha! I’m a big LOTR nerd so I guess I’m on Danny’s side. well, I dunno if I could stand watching just parts of the movie at a time though, wait until he finishes the whole book! there’s so much left out in the movie!

I don’t like Orlando in either of those pictures, but I did like him in Pirates. He’s got one of those softer, thinner, “pretty” looks that I was head over heels for in high school.

Have fun on your trip! And I’m sending positive job vibes to you!

  • Ha! Geeky McGeekerson :)

    Have a great trip!

  • I roared at the Spanish drug lord comment – I feel the same way too!

And as a giant Fantasy geek, I totally love LOTR and can watch them endlessly (as read them endlessly too of course).
