Okay, like a few others, I am quite late in this “resolution game”….however, I didn’t WANT to start my resolutions on January 1st…I was still out of town and holed up in a hotel room, I knew that fast food and dinners out was still on the agenda and I REALLY didn’t want to start off on the wrong foot. So I vowed I would start January 3rd. AND I DID.
Anyway, I have seen quite a few resolutions out there and I will warn you, I have a LONG list…most of them are a life long list, things I just want to change in general, others are a to do list, and I am trying to put an end date on these ones. I also have an action plan for the majority of it!! So, if you are ready. Here is my list:
Year Long Resolutions
- Walk Charlie Daily (should this really be a resolution?? It actually is, I will do this by getting off my butt and walking him…it doesn’t have to take a LONG time!)
- Get 30 minutes of Activity a day (this could be my walk with Charlie even, get with the program Jen)
- Keep up with Blogging (I never really got out of it except during stressful times…this one should be fine, I am making time for it during my day)
- Attend 4 workout classes a month (no specified ones, just go to them, you like them! They count towards activity)
- Floss more often (duh! I decided I need to start getting ready for bed a half hour earlier)
- Wash face at night, don’t be lazy (this goes with the one above, hence the 1/2 hour earlier)
- Cut back on useless spending/use weight loss goals to purchase things (the latter is kind of the way of sticking to that…I don’t NEED more STUFF!)
- Eat out for lunch no more than once per week (best once every 2 weeks) and ONLY at either Subway, Extreme Pita, Sushi or Mitchells (sandwich place) – No pizza or McDonalds!
- Stick to cash allowance…I like to have cash in my purse and therefore use my card more than I should…stop doing this (cutting back on lunches out should help a lot)
- Put more effort into my Outward Appearance…I did great on this until I start gaining again…then I stopped…remember that it doesn’t matter what size I am to look good
- Read more (I still have a lot of unread books!) – though I have been sure to start a new book right after I finish one lately
- Do more around the house – I have been doing a LOT better with this one lately, this is more of a reminder to keep up the good work
- Spend more time with Danny – we don’t spend a lot of quality time together and this hurts us in a lot of areas…we are re-instating the date night
Okay, so those are things to improve, now here is my to do list:
2009 To Do List
- Find new Job by February (sometime in February at the latest). I have my eye on one and I will be calling them regarding the position tomorrow.
- Get Pregnant. Yeah, that might be out of my control. But we do plan on trying starting the Spring/Summer
- Put away $500/month into my savings – We usually just let it sit in the account, I want it in the savings account
- Pay off Danny’s car and save for the basement – between the 2 should take a few months, but it’s still something to do this year
- Use up Freezer/Pantry contents (no end goal on this one, but I would like to see it happen in the next couple of months)
- I have until Feb. 1 to lose weight via current method, if I do not see results, try plan B
- Be finished Mortgage Brokers Course by March 1
- Challenge with Danny – no eating dinners out aside from pre-planned already (we both have birthdays coming up, and I have a date with a friend already planned) until Valentines Day where we will celebrate with heart shaped pizza (this is a weight loss AND spending goal for us)
Wow, that is it!!! And that is a lot! I usually come up with a lot of things, but I don’t really think that any of it is unreasonable and I have already been working on it, and I feel fantastic (and nothing feels abnormal or out of place…so that is a good sign right?)
Sorry for the lengthiness of the post!

Great list!
I am so with you on the getting ready for bed 1/2 hour early! I hardly ever floss (gross, I know) and I also hardly ever take off my make-up!

It’s all awesome! I haven’t done up a list yet, but one of mine is also to use up pantry and freezer items. I’ve got the fridge freezer AND a deep freezer FULL and there’s no need to keep buying stuff to put in it!

Flossing was my resolution too!

Wow, that’s a great list! I haven’t done a list for myself yet, but you’ve got a lot of things on yours that I should really look into for myself for resolutions!

YAY! Love the list. I’m with the others, glad you reminded me about using up the freezer food! I’ve been thinking on my resolutions and will probably post them tomorrow. I think it’s so fun. And even if you don’t completely succeed, they’re great things to work toward and you know you’ll be doing good things, but there’s no reason you won’t succeed!

This is a great list!! And everything is realistic and doable. I like how you use ‘try’ or something similar in so many of the items – ‘most of the time’ is better than never!!!

It’s hillarious that “Get Pregnant” is on your “To Do” List.
Do laundry
Get the dry cleaning
Put deposit in bank
Get pregno…
haha.
