Back to Reality

Well, I am back now!!

I actually have been back since Saturday night but WHEW…what an ordeal getting back!!

We were delayed at the airport in Mexico for an extra 1.5 hours, which would be okay but the airport was STIFLING, and we didn’t really have anywhere to go (the nearest town was a $20 cab ride away and that is the OLDER part of the town) AAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDDD we were dropped off at the airport 4 hours early…honestly, at that point I was just ready to go home, it felt like the whole day was wasted because we couldn’t really do anything all morning while waiting for our bus either…we just sat by the pool in our travel clothes…and both of us were feeling kind of icky, so we didn’t take advantage of the all inclusive that day either!!!

And speaking of feeling icky, the husband got sick one day while we were there – I am pretty certain he got what I had the week before and it just kind of incubated for a while…and he still isn’t feeling top notch, and neither am I – I have been having horrible stomach pains for the past couple days - I didn’t really do great eating-wise, and drinking…well, why have water when you can have a Pina Colada right?? Anyhoo, we are back and back to normal…it feels nice!!

And don’t worry, I will be posting pictures (and a couple of little videos I took!) this week, it has just been pretty busy so far!!

Oh, and I gave in my resignation letter today!! I gave a verbal resignation on the day I left (just so they could start looking for a replacement) but I handed in the letter today…I am definitely getting antsy to start my new job! It is for a low-income housing development, and the position is entry level but there is SO much room for movement, plus they will need another HR person down the road so I would be able to move to that!! I spoke to the HR rep today and she told me they already have a project for me to start when I get there! I like jumping in like that!! I usually don’t like the first few days because you are lying in wait. It’s a nice cushy Monday – Friday job that runs 8:30 – 4:30 (seriously, I was so excited when my job moved to 8, it felt like sleeping in!! This is going to be awesome!!!)…I am thinking that I can get a workout in before work a couple of days a week as long as I treat it like I am still working early and not let myself get lazy!! And then getting home at about 4:45 leaves me JUST enough time to walk Charlie and start getting dinner ready before hubby gets home so that eliminates that “happy” hour after work where I just want to stuff my face!

AND the job is downtown…so that means I can get coffee from Starbucks anytime I want!! AND it’s across the street from Subway and really close to this little sandwich cafe that I love! It really couldn’t be more perfect!! Like I said, the job is entry level, but I plan on going in like this is my dream job, I am SICK of just coasting through life and being angry at everything…time to turn my life around and look at the positive!!!

Hopefully mine works out as well as your interview did!!!
