Okay, so I am strange…yes, I will easily admit that one…I pay attention to the weirdest things…I go to hockey games and watch the fans instead of the players and when I go to the movies I pay attention to the little extras more than the plot.
I have mentioned before that I noticed a coach purse on Anne Hathaway in Bride Wars (cute movie!), and I also noticed the new Gucci studded heels in the Shopaholic trailer (and how disappointed was I that Becky wasn’t wearing them, instead they were worn by Alicia Bitch-Long-Legs –who had GREAT style! Except for that hair…) – I also have a keen eye for picking out people who guest appeared on Buffy…but that’s because a) it seems like everybody has and b) I was obsessed with the show for 7 years and re-watched the DVDs a few times!!! Anyway, that’s SLIGHTLY beside the point!

So after watching “He’s just not that into you” a couple of weeks ago with my sister, I gushed “didn’t you love Ginnifer Goodwins nail polish??” – I was met with silence and a look that made me think I might have grown a second head…my sister just shook her head at me and I was left to think I was crazy (as I endlessly searched the internet that evening to find the color or one just like it). Then, I make an offhanded comment on Cat’s blog regarding the color and BAM, I learn I am not alone in this world!! My fellow fashionista (and nail polish obsessor ;p) noticed the exact same thing!!!
So to let you in on our little polish find. The color is “Parlez vous OPI?” and it is from OPI’s France collection which you can see on their site. I am not sure if it is the EXACT color, but it’s PRETTY DAMN CLOSE. I am used to wearing dark shades (like OPI’s Lincoln park after dark – and its successor Lincoln Park at Midnight) but this color drew me in!! It looks more like a fall shade (actually a lot of stores carried that smoky violet color in clothing around the fall) but now that it’s on my nails, it seems perfect for spring!! It isn’t chalky like pastels, and it’s sweet enough to be considered springy, but still sultry and smokey enough so that I don’t want to barf every time I look at it!!! (BTW, I also picked up “Yes I can can” “You don’t know Jacques” and “Louvre me louvre me not” but that’s because I have different issues).
So I urge you all to try it…and the next time you go to a movie, pay attention to the little things in the background, who knows! You may find yourself at the beginning of a brand new trend!!!

Oddly enough, I’m kinda self conscious about my hands. I have short sausage fingers…and I find when I paint them dark it draws horrible attention to my little stubs.

OK… a girl at work is great with painting so she tried mixing a bunch of colors to match one of the nailpolishes on that movie… it HAS to be the one you’re talking about, so I just sent her your suggestion!!!!
Thanks!!

I think I won the auction at like….$19 or something for five polishes….full size brand new.

as you know, we share a coach obsession…
however when I noticed “Alison Dubois” carrying a legacy coach purse on the tv show Medium, I was not impressed, after all the character was suppose to be (at that plot time) a mom of 3, working part time and whose hubby just lost his job and she is toting around a legacy line coach purse, a very brand new looking coach purse? and saying lines about re-working the family budget to get food for her girls, yeah right…
and still to this day I find myself always checking to see what purse she is carrying this time, cause again I have a purse obsession and now I’m stuck looking for it, instead of just believing the character..

Thanks for the link!! I keep finding this polish everywhere, but they say nothing about the greyish purple color she wore which caught my eye a bit more!!!
I think I will still have to try this one (although I think I have something similar!!)

Shirls, that just drives me nuts when they do that!! YES, the bags are fabulous looking, but be realistic in your shows!!!
I was so angry when I saw Anne Hathaway with the Coach Gigi…she was supposed to be the poor one who was having trouble saving for her wedding…the Gigi (another legacy bag) retailed for $698!!! I recognized it because of the fabulous lining…
But yeah, that’s bull…if we were struggling and had to restructure our finances then I am certain I would be selling my lovely coach on ebay…I am sad to say how much I have acquired since I told you in the summer that I only owned 1 or 2 coach bags (or did I own them at that point??? If not…that’s even worse!!!)

I was going to say that this was in Entertainment Weekly, but Kate beat me to it. I found the magazine and had opened it to the page and everything. Who knew purple nail polish could cause such a commotion.

I am notorious for NOT being observant about things *hides head in shame*. You may remember I made a new year’s resolutoin last year about trying to notice people’s haircuts more etc. I’m getting better, but still a work-in-progress!
Having said that, I do sometimes notice things like that and I have an eye for spotting actors for being in old and obscure shows or movies.
It soooo doesn’t suprise me that Cat’s wearing the said nailpolish because you two are sisters from another mister!
