Things I Love

Instead of focusing on the things that are making me unhappy right now, I think I will choose to focus on the things that are making me HAPPY!!!

Here are five things I am loving at this moment:

Emijay hair elastics – if you can believe it, these are made by 2 14 year old girls!!! They are super cute, and yeah, they might look a little childish, but if Louis Vuitton can make hair baubles and charge over $200 for them and women will buy them, why not spend $10.99 US on a few cute hair ties?? They hold nicely and they just add a little flair to your ponytail. I spotted these a couple of weeks ago and thought it was neat when I saw them in my InStyle magazine this month!!!

Built NY Gourmet Getaway Lunchbags – OF COURSE I bought the Polka Dot version of this…but MAN!! I can’t even begin to say how much I love this!!! It’s actually far roomier than I would imagine, and it’s super cute!! I have gotten lots of compliments on it and it beats my book bag (literally my book bag, it’s a reusable bag I bought at Chapters to carry my library books!) that I was using before!!! It’s stretchy so if you put something in there that is a bit too big, it totally accommodates!

RuMe Reusable bags – After our trip to TO and seeing Ang’s SUPER cool reusable bag from Reitmans, I was on the lookout for something: a) reusable (duh!) and b) purse size!!! Since I couldn’t find the original ones at Reitmans (and they were fantastic!! Folded up into a neat little pouch), I did an internet search and found them on goneshopping.ca (where I had bought my lunch bag a while before!!). They are a bit pricy that is for sure. But they fold up into a neat little package and have a velcro strap that keep them compact!! It’s great for when you have to run in somewhere but didn’t remember one of the fifty million reusables that you keep in your vehicle/house! PERFECT!!! (OH and one super neat thing about my town – it actually shocks me that we are doing this because this seems like such a BIG CITY thing to do – we have a bylaw that will come into affect in September banning all plastic bags from any store. They will have to start using paper/reusable fabric bags, how eco-friendly is that??? Perhaps we are making up for all the toxins released from the oilsands???)

Cherry Handbag Organizer – ANOTHER great thing from goneshopping.ca!!! If you are a purse lover like me, or if you just change your bags from the week to the weekend or WHATEVER (maybe you just want to organize your mess a little??) This nifty little organizer goes in your purse and has little compartments for all your goodies. Then if you want to change out your purse, just grab the organizer by its handles, pull out of your current bag and move it into a new one! TADA!!!! It’s THAT fast!!! I SERIOUSLY love this thing!!! I have it in medium and large (black and grey respectively)

and lastly I am REALLY loving hair ornaments lately. This is really the only example I could find (and not budget friendly at an exorbitant $128)

daphneheadband

I love that it’s metal and loud and just plain blingy!!! Hard headbands REALLY hurt my head (I got some stretchy ones the other day but they just fly off!!!) so if I am going to wear one I would rather it make a statement than just BE there, you know??? Plus with the summer temperatures it is SO nice to have your hair pulled off your face, and bonus if that clip/band looks super cute to boot hey???

Oh and a little copout extra:

STARBUCKS!!!!! I am ALWAYS loving starbucks but lately the faves have been:

Venti half sweet iced Raspberry Passion Tea (just raspberry syrup instead of classic)

Venti double skinny vanilla latte (I haven’t moved up to the triple like some of my hard core friends yet, but this gets me pretty wired!!)

Venti Iced coffee with 2 percent milk (YUM!)

Grande Iced non-fat Caramel Macchiato (I only get a grande because it’s a little high in calories but DAMN, get a little blob of caramel up your straw and it’s heaven in your mouth!!)

  • I’ve been eyeing those lunch bags forever but I was reluctant because I’d have no where to put my water bottles and hence would still need yet another bag. *Sigh* I literally take minimum 3, sometimes 4 (on workout days) bags with me every single day to work:

    1)Purse

2)Netbook bag with the power cord, magazines etc. (this is my “internet cafe” lunch bag if I get the chance to go somewhere on my lunch break with internet “just in case”)

3)Reusable lulu bag or any other larger reusable bag that encompasses my lunch, which INEVITABLY includes like 293874 containers, loose fruit and water bottles lol

4)Lulu gym bag for bootycamp/workout days

5)Oh and I’ll have a travel mug with a GM too!

I shake my head every single day with my million bags and I’m always annoyed at it! lol

I do LOVE that Reitman’s reusable bag I have to say! It’s in my purse at all times. I try to put my empty reusables back into the car for the next time but 6/10 I forget and either feel guilty for using the plastics (which are in the process of being eliminated); or I buy MORE which is really starting to contribute to more waste methinks! lol

Sorry for hogging your comment space!

    Love your post!

  • I saw some great lunch bags at a shop a little while ago – they basically looked like purses with all kinds of different patters (e.g. burberry knockoff) but they were insulated and had waterproof liners!! I wanted one so bad! But alas, my better judgment spoke up…

  • Didn’t you have a post not too long ago about decluttering? lol. ;)

I guess I’m not much of a shopper (although still more than I’d like to be).

  • GREAT post!!! I’m LOVING starbucks this summer as well, ESPECIALLY the iced coffee and venti latte’s (I’m a triple-girl though)!

  • everystepoftheway

I have the same lunch bag!! I love it!! Especially since I work in a very conservative agency, it’s nice to have something girly and fun to carry to work.

The iced tea from Starbucks sounds so good! I’m going to have to try it…you’re a genius!

  • Lainey you are ABSOLUTELY right – HOWEVER this is all stuff I bought before I decided I needed to declutter!!

I decided to focus on the fun things that I have so I don’t want more!! :) I am TERRIBLE for wanting!!!

  • Good picks! The emijay hair ties are great!
