So, unfortunately, I did have a video on this that I filmed on Saturday…but I just couldn’t get the editing down…and frankly, I don’t have the time to go through and fine tune it – I have an assignment I would like to get done by the weekend, and 2 Christmas events this coming weekend…it just isn’t going to happen. So instead I am going to do the review via blog post, and I will do another video just because on another day!
I am going to have to try to make this short too…there is a lot of info, and I don’t want to drag on!
Anyway, so I decided to try out a new brand recently, Vancouver-based LUSH.
If you haven’t heard about Lush, go check out their site. They are a bath and shower store and the majority of their products are Vegan (I think they are all organic though). They have cute names for their products and I bought quite a few items from their Christmas collection (and definitely a LOT considering I had never purchased anything from them before). I will warn you though, I have heard that the store has a VERY strong smell…and I can definitely agree, I have a box with all my products in it and it actually gives me a headache. I would suggest either ordering online, or checking online first to know what you are looking for before heading in. There seems to be a Lush store in most major cities!
Here are the pictures of the holiday collections - I will put in bold the products I have even though I don’t think I reviewed them ALL on here.
From left to right: First row: Candy Cane bubble bar, star melt bath melt, gnome name bubble bar, mr. butterball bath bomb Second row: holiday bubble bar, Christmas eve bubble bar, fairy tail sugar scrub, want to believe bath melt, Satsumo santa, cinders bath bomb, so white bath bomb, lil’ pud bath bomb, christmas party bath bomb, jingle spells bath bomb. Back row: Snowcake soap, snow showers shower jelly, Angels Delight soap and Father Frost soap
(yeah, so as you can see…I pretty much bought out the holiday collection)
So moving on, here are the items I purchased!! I will let you know what my faves are!!
The following are bubble bars. What you do with these is you break off a piece (most of these can be cut in half or more – I will note how many pieces I got!) and then you crumble the bar in your hand under the tap as the water is flowing. The result is LOTS of bubbles and some yummy smells!! (I have a jetted tub, so I crumble the bar and then run the jets for a minute or two to froth it up even more! I figure if you swished your hand around in it too you could definitely generate more bubbles.
I got:
Candy Cane (smells like cotton candy and vanilla – a little TOO sweet in my opinion, but I got 4 pieces off one bar, so that’s 4 baths!)
Holiday (Smells of carnation, rose and tangerine oil – I would call it sexy! PLUS it looks like ruby slippers! It’s all red and sparkly!! – I cut mine in half!)
Christmas Eve (Smells of jasmine and ylang ylang – it’s meant to relax you, and BOY does it ever!!! I used this on the weekend and I was OUT for the night! I hate the smell of the bar, but loved the smell in the tub! I cut mine in half)
Gnome Name (Smells like coke bottle candies!!! I LOVE this little guy, looks like a “Shy-guy” from Mario Bros. and it makes LOTS of bubbles!! I also cut him in half!)
Next are bath bombs – fill your tub with water and then drop it in!! These fizz and dissipate, some have cute surprises in the middle!! (Some not so pleasant that I have heard, one – not one that I got – has seaweed in the middle…that would make a mess!!). Some of these I was able to cut in half because they are HUGE!!!
Satsumo Santa (Smells of mandarin, bergamot, and orange blossom – it’s made to relax and invigorate…it smells HEAVENLY…and he is a BIG santa…I was able to cut him in half with a really big knife!)
Cinders (Smells of sweet cinnamon and orange – if even has vegan pop rocks on the top that are supposed to snap and crackle when placed in the bath, it’s supposed to remind you of a fireplace!! This is a smaller bath bomb, so it’s a one time use!)
So White ( Smells of oranges, apples and romantic rose – I LOVE this scent!! AND it has little pieces of bubble bar mixed in to make some bubbles in the tub!! This one is also smaller, so you shouldn’t cut it)
Mr. Butterball (Smells of ylang ylang and vanilla. Helps you relax and get to sleep, softens with cocoa butter. He is shaped like a snowman and easy to cut in half…I used him last night and my legs were SILKY smooth this morning!)
Christmas Party Bomb (Smells of lime, orange and cognac. Wakes you up for the party. Filled with stars and glitter and colored confetti!! This is the only bath bomb that I wasn’t able to split…and it’s HUGE!! Like the size of large orange!!)
Jingle Spells (Smells of juniper berries and fennel. I can honestly say that I HATE this smell…BUT it is supposed to be a great hangover cure…I cut this baby in half and should be able to use it for 2 hangovers – let’s hope!!)
I bought a couple of other items too:
Snow Showers Jelly (Smells of sweet orange, lime and cognac to wake you up. Has a jello like consistency. You are supposed to put this in the fridge and then use a small piece on your loofah in the shower)
Sexy Boy massage bar (Smells of warming chocolate and invigorating lime puts you in the “mood”. You warm this little guy up in your hands and then rub your hands on your skin – I LOVE this little guy!)
Snow Fairy Shower Gel (Smells of pink cotton candy mixed with vanilla. It’s a BIT too sweet – like the candy cane bubble bar – but I found it wasn’t as strong on my shower puff, so that was nice! AND an extra perk is that the bottle is recyclable as well!)
All the products I got were from the Holiday collection, but I found that the majority of the scents were in their regular collection, just in different forms. ALSO, I hear they have an amazing sale on Boxing Day…so that just might be a good way to start trying some of their products!
**just want to note that I am in no way affiliated with lush and that I bought these products myself. I just tried a bunch of things and really loved them and then felt the need to write all about it!

haha, product whore!!
Some of those sound super yummy. I used to buy some of their stuff but I’m not a bath person so a lot went to waste. You heard right too…the stores are potent smelling. The one in Victoria you can smell out on the street!

Every now and then I treat myself to a few bath bombs from Lush when I’m at the Mic Mac mall. You’re right about the strong smell. I have to get in and get out! lol I had a few freaky experiences with the “surprises” in the bombs! I thought there were bugs in my bath! lol

I am scared as hell to go to Lush. It is dangerously near Sephora in the mall I frequent. Bad for the bank, I tell ya!

I always walk on by the Lush store here simply because of the overpowering smell. How can anyone work there? (I often wonder the same thing about the Bay ladies haha)
The stuff LOOKS great but I wouldn’t know where to start.
If I decide to buy anything (online) I will go by your reviews as I totally trust your judgment!

They do have some nice stuff. We don’t have a store around here, but whenever I get a chance to browse around in one I take it.

My dad buys us the Lush boxes full of goodies every year and I love them! I don’t enjoy being in the store though, because you’re right, it’s stinky, but I LOVE their hand cream…I wish I could remember what it’s called, but it comes in a little black jar that loks like a flower pot…hand miracle or something like that??

The problem with Lush is that I usually want to eat their products. They look edible!
